The proposed increase in reimbursements for physicians and, in particular, for venous disease is creating no end of confusion.  It was almost simpler when it was a reduction as no one wanted to know the particulars.  Cheryl and I have studied it to a fare thee well. We keep coming up with different answers.

In an effort to get good information out that is usable, please find attached here Boston Scientific Corporation’s Reimbursement alert detailing the payment rates for the primary procedures used in a venous practice. The numbers on the guide are based on the national average.  If you live in a high-cost area you have a positive GPCI (geographic practice cost index) increasing your actual reimbursement rate and, as in most rural states, a negative GPCI causing lower actual reimbursement. The Reimbursement Alert was attached with kind permission by Boston Scientific.
